Oris Propilot X Calibre 400 Laser Multicolor Dial Titanium Bracelet

But the story this time is in its colourful dial, which is created using an innovative lasering technique never seen in watchmaking before. Incredibly, there’s not a drop of colour pigment in it. Instead, the blue, green and violet finish is created by reflected light. It’s a technological beauty. The technique behind the watch’s colourful dial is state-of-the-art. But it’s inspired by the principles of biomimicry, whereby technology reflects the wonders of nature. Think of the iridescent wings of a beetle and the way they reflect light to appear a bluey-green. It’s the same thing here. We developed the technique in partnership with Switzerland’s prestigious ETH Zürich university and this is the first time it’s been used in a watch. The result? Joy on the wrist.
